Terms of Service

1. Accounts & Registration

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your profile information up to date.
• You may not create multiple accounts, impersonate another person, or use another person’s account without permission.
• We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication (TOTP or passkeys) on your account. While optional, it significantly protects against unauthorized access.
• Accounts are temporarily locked for 15 minutes after 5 consecutive failed login attempts. You can unlock your account by resetting your password via email.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in abusive behavior.

2. Courses & Digital Products

• When you purchase a course or digital product, you receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access and use the content for your own learning and personal development.
• You may not redistribute, resell, share access credentials, publicly perform, or create derivative works from our course content without express written permission.
• Download tokens for digital products are limited to 5 downloads within 3 days of purchase. If you need additional downloads, contact us.
• Free courses are provided as-is and may be modified or removed at our discretion.
• “Lifetime access” means access for as long as the course remains available on the platform. It does not guarantee perpetual hosting.

3. Membership & Subscriptions

• Membership subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly through Stripe, depending on the plan you choose.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your dashboard or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
• We reserve the right to change membership pricing. Existing subscribers will be given at least 30 days’ notice before any price increase takes effect on their account.
• Membership benefits (live events, exclusive content, community features) are available only while your subscription is active.

4. Payments & Refunds

• Card payments are processed securely by Stripe — we do not see or store your credit card information. Bitcoin and Lightning payments are processed by our self-hosted BTCPay Server at pay.sovereigntyacademy.net — no third-party payment processor is involved.
• Prices are listed in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated.
• Digital products and courses: due to the immediate-access nature of digital content, all sales are final. If you experience a technical issue preventing access, contact us and we will resolve it.
• Memberships: if you cancel within 7 days of your initial subscription and have not accessed member-only content, you may request a full refund.
• Physical products: refund and return policies are stated on each product listing. Generally, unused items may be returned within 14 days of delivery. You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item arrived damaged or defective.
• Shipping: shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your delivery address. Orders over $50 qualify for free standard shipping. Estimated delivery times are provided by carriers and are not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by carriers, customs, weather, or other factors outside our control.
• Shipping address accuracy: you are responsible for providing a correct shipping address. We are not responsible for packages delivered to an incorrect address provided by you. Address corrections after shipment may incur additional fees.
• Refund requests should be sent to SovereigntyAcademy@pm.me.

5. Marketplace

• The Sovereignty Academy marketplace allows approved sellers to offer services, digital products, physical goods, and events to the community.
• Sellers are independent individuals, not employees or agents of Sovereignty Academy. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of marketplace listings.
• Sovereignty Academy retains a 7% platform fee on each marketplace transaction.
• Sellers receive payouts directly via Stripe Connect. We do not hold or intermediate funds beyond the platform fee.
• Disputes between buyers and sellers should first be resolved directly. If resolution cannot be reached, contact us for mediation.
• We reserve the right to remove listings or suspend seller accounts that violate these Terms or our community standards.

6. Community Guidelines

Our community spaces (feed, Sovereign Reels, wins wall, confessional, council, Sovereign Circles, and live events) are built on mutual respect and sovereignty. When participating, you agree to:

• Treat all members with respect, even in disagreement.
• Not post content that is hateful, threatening, harassing, sexually explicit, or illegal.
• Not spam, advertise, or promote unrelated products or services.
• Not share private information about other members without their consent.
• Not attempt to manipulate, deceive, or defraud other members.
• Not abuse the follow system (e.g., mass follow/unfollow to inflate counts, follow harassment, or automated following).
• Not create Sovereign Circles for the purpose of harassment, hate groups, or illegal activity. Circle owners are responsible for the content and conduct within their circles.
• Not upload videos containing violence, nudity, copyrighted music, or content that violates any other provision of these guidelines. Videos are subject to the same content standards as text posts.
• Respect intellectual property — do not post content you do not have the right to share.

We reserve the right to remove content and restrict access for users who violate these guidelines. Repeated or severe violations may result in permanent account suspension.

7. AI-Powered Tools

Certain features use artificial intelligence to generate personalized content:

• Excitement Compass: generates personalized “compass readings” using Anthropic’s Claude AI based on your written reflections. Your challenge description and answers to guided questions are sent to Anthropic’s API to generate the reading.
• AI-generated content is not professional advice. Compass readings are for personal reflection and inspiration only. They do not constitute professional psychological, medical, financial, or legal advice.
• No guarantee of accuracy: AI responses may contain errors, biases, or inappropriate content. Use your own discernment.
• Data handling: your reflections are sent to Anthropic solely to generate your reading. Anthropic does not use API inputs for model training. Your readings are saved to your account for personal history.
• Rate limits: AI-powered features are rate-limited to prevent abuse (e.g., 5 compass readings per 30 minutes). Excessive or automated use may result in temporary or permanent restriction.
• Attribution: the Excitement Compass is inspired by Bashar’s Excitement Principle as channeled by Daryl Anka. This tool is an independent creation by Sovereignty Academy and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed from Darryl Anka or Bashar Communications.

8. Interactive Tools & Calculators

• Sovereign Budget Calculator: runs entirely in your browser. No financial data is transmitted to or stored by Sovereignty Academy. We have no access to any numbers you enter.
• Sovereignty Score Calculator: the 48-question assessment runs in your browser. Only the final pillar scores (6 numbers, each 1–10) are saved when you choose to save — your individual question answers are not stored.
• Sovereignty Audit (Breach Scanner): checks your email against the public Have I Been Pwned breach database. Your email may be sent to the HIBP API if a paid API key is configured; otherwise, only your email domain is matched against public breach data. Passwords are checked using a privacy-preserving k-anonymity protocol.
• Preparedness Checklist: your completed items are saved to your account. We store item IDs only — no details about your actual supplies or plans.
• Sovereign Flight Finder: country data and sovereignty scores are editorial assessments, not financial or legal advice. Flight search links redirect to Skyscanner — we do not process flight bookings ourselves.
• Learning Paths & Course Progress: your lesson completions and path progress are tracked to show your completion percentage, enable resume functionality, and award achievement badges. Progress data is private to your dashboard unless you choose to share it.
• Engagement Streaks: your daily activity streak is calculated from your existing actions (posts, comments, lessons, wins, check-ins). Streaks are computed on demand and are visible only on your private dashboard.
• Achievement Badges: badges are awarded automatically based on your activity (e.g., completing a course, publishing posts, finishing challenges). Badges appear on your dashboard and, if you enable badge visibility, on your public profile.
• Sovereign Circles: topic-based community groups where members can gather, discuss, and organize. Circles can be public (anyone can join), private (visible but invite-only), or secret (hidden, invite-only). Circle owners and admins can moderate posts and manage members. You may create up to a reasonable number of circles and join any public circle. Leaving a circle removes your membership but your posts remain.
• Portfolio Showcase: you may add up to 20 projects to your profile portfolio, including titles, descriptions, external URLs, images, and tags. Portfolio visibility can be toggled on or off from your profile settings. Portfolio content is user-generated and subject to Section 10.
• Sovereign Reels: a short-form vertical video feed at /feed/videos. Videos you upload (MP4, WebM, MOV, up to 100MB) are hosted on Cloudinary. The Reels feed displays video posts in a fullscreen, swipeable format. The same community guidelines and content standards that apply to text posts apply to video content.
• Personalized Recommendations: learning path recommendations are generated algorithmically based on your archetype, pillar interests, sovereignty score, and progress history. Recommendations are computed on demand entirely within our platform — no data is shared with third parties for this purpose. You can influence recommendations by updating your archetype quiz results, pillar interests, and sovereignty score.
• Profile Visibility Controls: you control what appears on your public profile through granular toggles including: bio, archetype, sovereignty score, wins, badges, pillar interests, sovereign declaration, feed activity, marketplace shop, and portfolio. All toggles can be changed at any time from your profile settings.
• Following: you may follow other members to express interest in their journey. Following is one-directional and does not require approval. You can unfollow at any time. Follower counts are visible on public profiles.
• Not professional advice: all tools are for educational and personal development purposes. They do not constitute professional financial, legal, medical, or security advice.

9. Intellectual Property

• All original content on Sovereignty Academy — including course material, written content, graphics, logos, design, and software — is the intellectual property of Sovereignty Academy and is protected by copyright and trademark laws.
• You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content except as expressly permitted by a purchased license (see Section 2).
• The Sovereignty Academy name, logo, and brand elements may not be used without written permission.

10. User-Generated Content

• You retain ownership of content you create and post on the platform (community posts, videos, circle discussions, comments, wins, portfolio projects, profile information, sovereign declarations, and pillar interest selections).
• By posting content, you grant Sovereignty Academy a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and promote your content within the platform and in connection with our services (e.g., featuring a community post in a newsletter).
• You may delete your content at any time. Deletion removes it from the platform, though cached or archived copies may persist for a reasonable period.
• You represent that you have the right to post any content you submit and that it does not infringe on the rights of any third party.

11. Disclaimers

• Educational content only: Sovereignty Academy provides educational and informational content. Nothing on this platform constitutes professional legal, financial, medical, or therapeutic advice. Always consult a qualified professional for specific guidance.
• No guarantees of results: the outcomes you achieve depend on your own effort, circumstances, and decisions. We do not guarantee specific results from any course, tool, or program.
• “As is” provision: the Site and all content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
• We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Sovereignty Academy, its owners, operators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Site, including but not limited to loss of revenue, profits, data, or other intangible losses, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from your use of the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Termination

• You may close your account at any time by contacting us.
• We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law.
• Upon termination, your right to access paid content ends, except where you have a perpetual license to previously purchased products.
• Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will remain in effect.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after the revised Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance. If you do not agree to the new terms, you should stop using the Site.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if necessary, through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
